holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from Cleveland State University. She taught K-12 art for 31 years, 30 of those years in Holmes County. Since her retirement from the public schools in 2015, Catherine has been teaching classes in portrait drawing and acrylic painting for HCA as well as some classes and camps for children and teens. Catherine also does some grant writing for the arts center and has taken on a new role as director of Community Connections. She is excited to make the arts accessible to those who might not otherwise be able to participate. Catherine lives at Lake Buckhorn with husband, Kevin where she enjoys walking and finding time to draw and paint, her lifelong passions. She and Kevin have two grown sons. ​

is an artist and illustrator in NE Ohio. Anna found interest in art through media like Anime and Manga and began drawing on paper and MsPaint. She received her Associates in Computer Animation and Game Design at Kent State Tuscarawas. Anna grew up specializing in digital pop art but has recently focused on using traditional mediums such as alcohol ink, gouache, and paint markers to practice fine art basics. Anna loves to share the lessons she learned through studying media like television and movies and help students improve their fundamental art skills.

In 2002, Marlea Hershberger Leinbach earned a BA in Art and Secondary Education from Goshen College. She then taught in Indiana for several years at the elementary and preschool levels. After moving back to Ohio in 2005 and while her children were small, Marlea continued to work from home as an artist. For the last 3 years she has privately taught adult and children’s mixed media workshops and painting classes. As a teacher, Marlea emphasizes the creative process. She is passionate about encouraging creativity and critical thinking through making art. Although her educational background is in elementary art, she has found that she also enjoys working with adults with all levels of ability and experience. As an artist, Marlea works in a rotating variety of media, including: acrylic paint, collage, ink and pastel. In addition to painting, she also works in colored ink on paper. Texture and layers of color are important elements in her creative process. Inspired by nature; trees, flowers and landscapes dominate her work. When possible, she makes and prepares her own painting surfaces and frames. Marlea grew up in Wayne and Holmes Counties and currently resides in Trail.

is a life-long resident of NE Ohio. Having had an appreciation for drawing, detail and the natural world early on, she began her career as an artist in the early 1980’s when approached by a family friend to render a local historic building in graphite. From that beginning she produced a series of limited edition reproductions of other historic buildings in Millersburg, OH. Always possessing a fascination with detail, much of her recent work has concentrated on botanical subjects which are drawn in colored pencil. The inspiration for this art form is found nearby as she is an avid gardener and explorer of the natural world around her home. At the other end of the artistic scale she loves to paint the local landscape as well as scenes from different regions of the US that capture her creative heart. The Marblehead Peninsula and Catawba Island on Lake Erie are favorite subjects. For these she also uses the medium of soft pastel. Painting in acrylics is another medium she is exploring. Cheryl has illustrated two books for children and one cookbook and designs a line of hand painted ornaments for 'Tis the Season, a Christmas store in Berlin, OH. She also enjoys sharing what she knows about art and drawing with children and adults.

graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Art Education. Upon graduation she accepted a job teaching art for Kent City Schools in Kent, Ohio. In Kent, Karen had the opportunity to teach all grades {K-12) In 1985 her family moved to Sylvania,Ohio where Karen taught pre-K and after school Art class for Sylvania students. Following her family's move to Dublin, Ohio, Karen taught Art at Dublin Prep Academy, Dublin City Schools and Dublin Arts Council. Most recently, Karen has been engaged conducting Art Therapy at retirement homes in central Ohio. Karen is currently the full time Art teacher at Franklin Township Elementary School in Wayne County. She and her husband reside in Millersburg, Ohio.

is a local artist and educator. She received her M.F.A. from East Tennessee State University, and her B.S.Ed and B.F.A from Kent State University. She has worked in a variety of media including ceramics, installation and performance art. She was a member of the performance collective Knectiv. She curated and promoted exhibitions for Millworks, Akron Ohio, co-operated North Water Street Gallery in Kent, Ohio, and spearheaded three art walks in Millersburg Ohio. ​ As an educator, her teaching experiences include, William King Regional Art Center, Abingdon, Va., East Tennessee State University, Oriana House Community Based Corrections, Inc, and East Holmes Local Schools. She has illustrated two books; “Lilly’s Life” and “Wake Up, Beautiful Girl”. She currently lives in an old farmhouse in the Killbuck Valley with her family.
