"I Wanna be in a
Band" Camp
So you've got some music skills and you want to put together a band? Singer? Guitar player? Pianist? Bassist? Drummer? Other instrument? Here’s an opportunity to take your music to the next step – Nashville recording artists Gus and Phin Johnson of Low Gap will be hosting a camp for you this summer. Learn how to blend your skills into a group of similarly talented musicians and produce the sweet sounds of a band! Gus and Phin will teach you the basics of performing with others, setting up the mechanics of a live band practice, and arranging individual musical parts to come together as a single cohesive sound.
Ages 13 - 18. Must have at least two years of music lessons or experience under your belt. Each student will need to send an audition video playing the instrument of your choice or singing a song to info@holmescenterforthearts.org
by May 15th along with $50 deposit. If not accepted into the program, $50 deposit will be returned. If accepted camp dates are as follows:
June 13, 14, 15
4 - 8:00 PM
or
June 20, 21, 22
4 - 8:00 PM
Cost: $150/week
Additional song writing class add-on available (see below).
By the end of camp, each "band" will be able to play a song together. If the band stays together throughout the summer, they will have the opportunity to audition for a performance Wednesday night of the 2023 Holmes County Fair.
