MUSIC INSTRUCTOR BIOS

Daniel Bolton; Strings Instructor

Daniel Bolton earned his Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from Otterbein College, achieving Magna Cum Laude with Honors in 2009. Since then, he has gallivanted about mid-Ohio, teaching strings students where he finds them and playing in events and ensembles both well-known and obscure. Included in the litany of his experience are the McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, Westerville Symphony, the Ohio Light Opera, Wooster's Lyrics for Life, and his own star-crossed Pyxis String Quartet. Daniel has a sincere devotion to helping his students develop their musical talents, and believes that with persistent practice, listening, guidance and encouragement, and the experience of live performance, anyone can learn to play the songs they love.

Timothy Frye; Choir Director

Timothy Frye graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education from Bowling Green State University, and a Master of Music in Choral Performance from the University of Arizona. With over 40 years of teaching, performing, and conducting experience Timothy is well-rounded in the directing of a choir.

Susan Weaver, Piano Instructor

A native of Colorado and a resident of Holmes County OH, Susan has been playing the piano since she was six years old. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Sacred Music and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance. In Colorado, in Iowa, and now in Ohio, she has taught piano lessons for many students over the years. Her performing experience includes solo recitals, accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists as well as choirs, accompanying Handel’s Messiah, and leading worship music. She is thrilled to be able to be a part of what Holmes Center for the Arts is doing for our community.

Brad Olsen, Guitar Instructor

Brad Olsen, originally from New York and raised in Georgia, is a seasoned musician best known as a member of The Waiting, a Dove Award-nominated group. For the past twelve years, Brad has called Holmes County home. Beyond his acclaimed work with the band, he shares his passion for music as a dedicated guitar instructor at the Holmes Center for the Arts, shaping the next generation of musicians.
